The broad objective of this project is to answer:
- Does the number of faculty hired across the US in postsecondary institutions increase/decrease with increasing economic indicators such as GDP per capita, median earning, etc...?
- If such a correlation exists, what's the model to predict the number of faculty positions offered in a given year?
- Is this prediction directly or inversely proportional to the offerings in the industrial (non-academic) job market for this year?
