Labor Day: Investigating Bias in Doctor-Induced Labor Scheduling

Doctor bias in labor induction near holidays in the US: according to historical data, how many non-medically necessary inductions happen near weekends or major US holidays where the physician may be going on holiday? Is the proportion of people having inductions higher for a certain day of the week (i.e., near weekends)? Is there a trend towards induction on days near holidays (christmas, thanksgiving, labor day, memorial day, fourth of july, etc)? Can we predict likelihood that a person will have an induction depending on some factors (day of the week, days before major holiday, affluence of patient/patient’s location, etc.)
