Predicting Graft Acceptance/Rejection After Liver Transplantation
Noah Mac, GONCA BULBUL, Winnie Lau

Field: Healthcare
Liver transplantation is a life-saving therapy, where the diseased liver is replaced with the healthy liver from another person. One of the main complications of liver transplantation is immune-mediated rejection of the transplant which can cause morbidity and mortality. Rejection occurs when a patient's immune system starts to attack the transplanted liver.
Our aim is to develop a predictive model which can recognize patients with high risk to develop rejection based on gene expression data. Genomic signatures can be identified by comparing differentially expressed genes in rejected biopsies with non-rejected biopsies, i.e. the control group.
