For vegetarian travelers and food enthusiasts, finding restaurants with reliable vegetarian options is often difficult. Existing apps (Yelp, Google Maps) may label restaurants as “vegetarian-friendly,” but they don’t usually list the specific vegetarian dishes available at each place. This makes it time-consuming for vegetarians to decide where to eat.
Goal: We propose building a location-based AI system that returns not just vegetarian-friendly restaurants, but also the specific vegetarian dishes they serve.
Dataset: We have collected our restaurant data using the Yelp Fusion API and have used a pre-existing dataset to train and classify dishes as vegetarian.
