Proteins assemblies commonly exhibit symmetry to their structure, and this symmetry is essential to both their construction and their function. Can we use methods from data science to identify symmetries of proteins? Our data is from the Protein Data Bank (https://www.rcsb.org/), which contains protein information, including known symmetries. We trained KNN and regression models on this data to identify symmetries of proteins.
