This project aims to build an early-warning system for viral internet slang. While it's impossible to guess what random new word the internet will invent tomorrow, we can catch a phrase right as it’s about to explode. Instead of tracking obvious, late-stage trends like hashtags, this project tracks how language travels across different online communities. By scanning text from specific corners of the internet—like niche Reddit communities and Youtube comment sections—we can figure out the exact moment a localized inside joke crosses over into a mainstream trend.
