Background:
A blood and marrow transplant is a procedure that replaces unhealthy blood-forming cells with healthy ones. An allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) uses blood-forming cells donated by someone else instead of one's own blood-forming cells. The major goal of this project is to predict transplant survival rates for post-HCT patients.
Objectives:
This project idea comes from a Kaggle competition: https://www.kaggle.com/competitions/equity-post-HCT-survival-predictions/.
- Construct a model that predicts the risks for post-HCT patients. (e.g. logistic regression, KNN regression, XGboost)
- Address the impact of socioeconomic status, race, and geography in the prediction.
